And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
— Luke 1:28

Oh, if we could let God awaken our hearts and minds during this special season of the year, causing us to rediscover Mary's secret of sensitivity and submission that opens the door to that tremendous joy, which, in turn, accompanies hearing the voice of His Spirit.

May God grant more of those glorious times when His voice seems almost to thunder in the midst of our corporate worship with a message of freedom and deliverance or a challenge to holiness and purity. Even amid the congregation's echoing the heavenly hosts' "Glory to God in the highest..." (2:14), may He enable us clearly to hear and understand His individual whispers.

As the Lord intensifies our hunger to hear the voice of our Shepherd, may we truly realize that His individual whispers in the middle of our everyday life are crucial. No matter how busy our everyday schedule may be --- whether we are compiling statistics for the boss, completing assignments for school, or washing laundry for our family --- our souls can magnify the Lord and our sprits can rejoice in God our Savior as He gently whispers... "Thou... art highly favored, the Lord is with thee." We need not go to Bethlehem where Mary "...brought forth her firstborn son..." (2:7). Jesus can whisper to us right where we are!

During any busy times, take time out of your busy schedule to hear His whisper, for He wants to speak to you. Read Galatians 6:9; Luke 12:32; Jeremiah 29:13; and 31:3.
